Recap of Iceland – The Land Of Fire & Ice!!!

•An incredible overseas adventure – not a place that I would highly recommend for everyone. The travel was crazy…and for the first time ever I was jet-lagged. The countryside reminded me of “Mad Max & The Thunderdome”….the geography, the terrain…most of the country is uninhabited.
•You know “Hilton” is my go-to in general especially as a “solo traveler”. The Reykjavik location was great…especially the spa after a 5-hr flight.
•There were 3 major events that I was hoping to see…sadly I was only able to accomplish 2 of 3…1) The Blue Lagoon (amazing…you’ve seen the pics…it’s all true – – geothermal minerals) 2). The Golden Circle Tour (a must-do when traveling there)…Volcanoes, Glaciers, Hot Springs and Waterfalls…spectacular! 3) The Northern Lights — this got canceled twice…there was no activity to see. I can always go back to Iceland to try again – October – April or take my chances of viewing them from Alaska. (I would much rather go to Alaska – 40 of 50 states visited…never made it there).

At any rate…another stamp collected…awaiting my next adventure. Stay tuned…
